My favourite feature in TV Time, and the one that mada me move there for a while, was the option to display newly released episodes and season premieres at the top of the watch list, followed by the remaining shows sorted by the date they were last watched. This sorting method made the watch list much easier to manage and would be an amazing addition to Series Guide.
For example, a show whose previous season ended a year earlier could become buried near the bottom of my list. When a new season premiered, the show automatically returned to the top, reminding me that new episodes were available. This meant that I did not have to keep checking the “Upcoming” or “Recently Released” sections for new episodes.
I would like to suggest adding a sorting option called “New Releases First”, positioned above “Favourites First” in the sorting settings, since all the TV shows I watch are my current favourites and I don’t see a reason to sort them that way.
With this option enabled, shows with newly released, unwatched episodes would appear first. If I did not watch the new episode until a new one is released, the show would remain in its position based on the release date of its earliest unwatched episode, rather than returning to its position based on when I last watched it or keep jumping up with new episodes. In other words, “first unwatched releases” would take priority over the “last watched” sorting order, but the following unwatched episodes would not have the priority back.
