When I get this error, will SeriesGuide attempt to add it to my trakt list at a later date? If it’s available on tmdb, it will likely appear on trakt later once they update their database.
Or will I need to manually remember to go back and add it to trakt myself later?
Currently SeriesGuide won’t re-try. On the next sync with Trakt, as SeriesGuide considers your Trakt profile the source of truth, an episode would also get marked as not watched again.
I see. Not ideal imo. If the data is available in TMDB and therefore SeriesGuide, and the user selects it, I think SG should keep a local record of that choice and check again in a day or two to resync once the data is available in trakt. Or at least, I think an optional setting for the app to work that way would be ideal. A “not watched” or “not watchlisted” existing on the trakt account simply because the data wasn’t there a day or two shouldn’t be seen as more likely to be accurate than the user’s own recent actions imo. Of course if the user then later marks it as unwatched or removes it from the list from the trakt end, then that can then be reflected in SeriesGuide as well.
When data isn’t available on trakt yet, I would basically treat it in app as if the user wasn’t connected to trakt, for the context of that one item, and then just re-check the availability 1 or 2 days later, in which case 99% of the time it will be available.
As an aside, trakt links using the tmdb search no longer appear to be working since trakt forced their new v3 interface on everybody.
