With the shit-show that Trakt has become and the mass exodus that is occurring, all and sundry are looking for alternative online solutions.

Could you consider, if possible, integration with WeTrakr, I’ve found it to be one of the best alternatives out there, and being able to use SeriesGuide for the stuff that doesn’t scrobble, would be a massive win for me.

Many thanks for your time, and effort that you put in to this app. It is appreciated.

Basically, the same thing applies as I stated at [Simkl integration? - #15 by uwe](https://discuss.seriesgui.de/t/simkl-integration/1447/15)

At this point, I’d rather not integrate the app with another ~~proprietary~~ privately operated service where the same thing can repeat itself in the future. Also, this is very new, so there is a risk of this being abandoned in the near future.

@uwe my vote is for [Punchplay.tv](http://Punchplay.tv)

They’re so robust and completely free. They have an awesome community. Would you look into them?

It’s another ~~proprietary~~ privately operated, very new service.

What is non-proprietary at this point? Would you also consider SeriesGuide a proprietary service? My point is that there are a whole lot of services out here that are looking to replace the somewhat “shady” practices that Trakt has done in the recent years with their VIP requirements.

I think you are limiting your application by not exploring other options. Is your reasoning that you are already integrated with Trakt, so that’s the limit of your development?

True, proprietary is the wrong word here. A community operated or overseen, maybe even non-profit, solution would be a great alternative.

And yes, my time is limited. I can’t just go chase after the next cool service every few months only for it to be abandoned after a while.

Another +1 for wetrakr here, if you decide to go down the path of complimenting/replacing Trakt. I’m going to stop using Trakt soon, which means uninstalling SeriesGuide as it will no longer be relevant, which is a real shame because I’ve used it for years and absolutely love it.

I very much agree with the feeling. Exchanging one privately run service with another privately run service feels pointless to me. The same thing will happen in a year or two, and people will wonder why the same problem happens when they chose the same answer again.

I would welcome and support a decentralised, open-source tracking service with open arms.
