I have noticed a change in the widget where the infinite calendar is no longer scrolling, well, infinitely. I used to be able to go from currently airing shows I’m watching all the way back through older shows no longer airing I’m also watching. It was very helpful to me to track what I’m actively watching as well as what I have “queued up” to watch soon so I don’t forget about a particular show I just haven’t gotten to yet. I saw a recent closed thread where you said you made this change intentionally to limit to 100 episodes and don’t intend to undo that, but I would really appreciate it if there was a way to still actually make the calendar truly infinite. Maybe a user like myself can choose to override that limit so it’s not most users but it’s at least still possible. At the very least calling it “infinite” when it’s actually limited is misleading. Thank you!
Hey Jennifer, thanks for your message!
I thought it’s best to apply the 100 item limit also when displaying shows in the widget to avoid performance issues and to conserve device resources, especially on lower-end devices. The widget was never meant as a replacement for the whole app. Note that you can tap it’s title to open the app to the relevant screen.
As for the infinite wording I agree. But as this was a rather fast change due to related widget performance issues on Android 16 an updated text and a new note will only be available in the next release. They can already be seen in the preview release.
