I checked with both trakt and TMDB and they have the correct air date, but SeriesGuide lists it as Fridays for some reason
That would very much depend on your location, and your setting in seriesguide, under advanced, time delay +/-.
No, even with the correct time delay, it would be Saturday evening rather than Saturday night here. Every other show displays at the correct time. This one is listed incorrectly. It’s listed for a full day before it’s supposed to air.
Also, it appears that nowhere on earth would the time delay adjustment result in a Friday air time
This suggests to me that it’s a quirk with how the app handles certain late night programs.
Another show is showing the incorrect air time: Margo’s Got Money Troubles
Trakt correctly shows this as airing Tuesday at 9pm. SeriesGuide shows each episode as airing Tuesday at 12 am, while the show itself is listed as Wednesday as 12 am
Technically Wednesday as 12am would be more correct, as that’s the way it’s marketed, but Apple shows technically drop at 9pm Eastern, a few hours before the official time.
But since the episodes themselves are listed for Tuesday on TMDB, they show up in the SeriesGuide widget as Tuesday at 12am
Most shows display the correct time for me, it’s just these two shows right now that are off. It doesn’t appear to be related to the time delay feature.
Hey, sorry for the late reply. I wanted to look into this, but Trakt has removed the show release timestamps from their new website, so this isn’t something I can quickly look up now. Anyhow, yes, assuming that your device is set to a US time zone or if a show is released on a specific network SeriesGuide does some adjustments (see TimeTools code for those interested).
In any case, can’t you use the clock button to edit the release time to what you want it to be for those two shows?
Looks like SNL UK has solved itself. Margo is trickier, because the show-level air time shows Wednesday at 12 am, but the episodes have Tuesday release dates on TMDB, which causes seriesguide to list it as Tuesday at 12 am.
But the correct air time is Tuesday at 9 pm. So if the show-level air time is corrected, then the episode dates should work well with that. Here’s Margo on trakt, showing the air time. I still have V2. I think you need to be VIP to access V2 now, annoyingly.
Is trakt where you get the show-level episode air times from? If so, I wonder if the forced V3 change for non-VIP users is affecting the API in some way, perhaps?
Where does trakt get that information? I assumed it was from tmdb.
I suppose I could use the clock to fix Margo for now.
