Shows/Added list is too crowded to be useful; see TV Time Watch List for inspiration

When I sit down to watch TV shows, I generally have 2 selections I want to choose from: shows to watch alone, and shows to watch with my spouse. The SeriesGuide Shows Added list is too crowded to be useful for either of these. For example, I open. up SeriesGuide and see this:

Specific issues with this display:

  • Seth Meyers is continuing but there are no episodes to watch
  • The Jinx is doubtfully continuing

So I think. there’s a filter for that! I hit filters >> Continuing >> excluded, and I see (2nd screenshot not permitted :frowning: )

SADNESS, Stephen Colbert and Daily Show are missing even though there are episodes to watch. Now I am confused by what this app means by “continuing”.

Contrast this with TV Time Watchlist, which shows unwatched episodes and separates that from “Haven’t Started”. That seems to me super useful. (3rd screenshot not permitted :frowning: )

p.s. I did see this suggestion: Shows: add tabs for all, watching, watchlist and TV Time was mentioned, but it is an old thread and did not seem to gain traction.

Try the Unwatched and Upcoming filters instead, they look at the next episode to watch.

The Continuing filter looks at the show status.

Using the Unwatched and Upcoming filters are much better, thank you!

I still have not found a good way to add a show I want to watch later. TV Time calls this “Haven’t Started”. Best option I found is to add the show, add it to a list, then hide it. Not so obvious or easy.

Also, “The Jinx” is definitely “ended” according to TVDB, but it shows up in SeriesGuide as “continuing”.
